uuuhuuuh, since days i try to update some essential programs and libs and i always come to the point, where the systems thinks it need the newest version of Xrender but can’t bould it. so - as i was to less careful - i destroyed evrything, firefox, sylpheed, mplayer the kde-base, and now even icewm, my tinty little supernice window manager. so i know use lynx for posting. nice experience, and I can see how handicap-friendly your blogs are …. - oh just now icewm is ready and should start. stay tuned

i got quite used to juggling with bills. rent, electricity, water … , after some time living here, i know quite well, when the problems get serious, if you don`t pay. And İ have strict priorities. İf the telephone is cut, no problem, but no internet is code red. (so of course no electricity is as well as my modem is not doing without it …).
Anyway, my phone was not working for months for outgoing calls, but the internet bills were paid at least every three months and only sometimes İ got late, but this just meant some hours cut, ugly enough, but still manageable. This time, on friday, my online breakfast was interrupted, the phone was totally dead and as the adsl needs the phone line for its signal - no internet. İ got nervous. a new problem. I convinced my friend on whose name the phone is (no stying permission, no official address, no phone line …) to join me on the way to türk telekom - an office like a caricature of an 19th century office, about 20 people working and we were sent from one to another about 20 times, needed 5 signatures, and the first step was learn everybody’s first names in order to get any information. the phone contract was canceled and had to be made new. after one hour we finished and were promised to get phone and internet back on monday or tuesday.

a weekend without internet … well, we survived.

today the phone was working again, tuuuut, but no call out possible. some minutes later even this problem disappeared. But still no adsl signal. Just before the office was about to close İ decided to have a visit again. they seemed to have forgotten the internet, and speaking on the hot line is hard with my poor turkish language. What İ saw there was strange: my acount on a to do-list printed on paper. İ still don`t know, whether my visit made things working, but now everything is ok.

The same eve 20 to 30 obviously rightist mummed attackd the alternative center AZ Cooni. They smashed two windows, presented a banner with the slogan “February 13TH - evrything forgptten?” and run away, according to police announcement.

As the date of the “teariness march” was in the week, Neonazis called for rallies in several other cities. In Krefeld, Nordrhein Westfahlen, 250 right extremists marched in the evening, according to NPD, organizing this. Before about 3,500 citizen took part in one of the biggest anti-right demonstration of recent years, according to police.

In Borna, Saxony, the evening before about 70 rightist and 200 counter-manifesters gathered. In Zittau, Oberlausitz, Neonazis want to demonstrate this saturday; this event is announced by Stephan Roth, who was convicted by the court of Jelenia Gora for “assaulting the polish nation” and “goading on ethic hatred” to a conditioned sentence of 8 month prison.

Within the “actıon week there was also announced a “big final event”, including a speech of the historical revisionist Olaf Rose, known for his garment dyeing on Rodolf Hess and sice recent times parliamtary consultant of the NPD parliamentary group in Saxony like Naumann.

In Dresden some days before a commisiıon of historians presented its first results of the attempts to find an exact number of victims of the air raids. The comission was initiated by the former major of Dresden in late 2004. its work was about to be stopped, as local politicians stopped the financial supply. On January 18th the Dresden city parliament canceled the board`s decission. Under the leadership of Rolf-Dieter Müller (Bureau of militarian-historical investigation) the comission came to the provisional conclussion, there is no reason to estimate the number of victims more than 25,000. Numbers multiplied by 10 or even 20 a stated not just by right extrmists. Holger Apfel, head of the NPD parliamentary group in Saxony caused ourage by naming the air raids “bomb holocaust”.

so now some remarks. This article is anti nazi and İ think it is giving some background information. But it is not facing the revisionist attitude of the citizen. it is just stating, nazis would use the victims. But in fact there is no reason to cray about the date, maybe personal, for somebody who lost his relatives, but in a historical view its part of fighting back the germans, necessary and as it was sucessfull a reason for happiness.
There is more and more th attitude to cry about german “victims” of WW II, claiming there was a taboo so far, which in fact never existed. This is dangerous and maybe even more dangerous than the nazis itself.

Yesterday there was a nazi demonstration in dresden. as İ think, there is to little translated to english, I started to do the first part of an article of redok . Not a perfect translatıon for sure, but hopefully a way to make some information accessable for non german speaker. later on İ will translate part two and then do some remarks, as some are not my personal pov.

Dresden. Compared to recent years significant less neonazis joined the right extremist staging of the 62. anniversary of the bombing of Dresden. In the evening according to media reports 1.700 to 1.800 right wing extremists gathered for a march through Dresden behind the Semper opera. More than 5.000 people demonstrated against the rightist using the death people.

Unlike in recent years the organizing rightists choosed a day in the week instaed of the weekend next to the anniversary. Therefore a decreased nummber of partificating was being expected. Two years ago according to officially announced numbers 5.000 joined the rhight wring march. Neonazis announced 7.500. the year before police announced 4.200, right wing extremists claimed 6.000.

The today`s manifestation was`nt able to start without a delay of one and a half hours, due to 300 neonazis refusing to be searched by the police.

Earlier in the afternoon about 5.500 people took part in the manifestation “Geh denken” (a word game: “Gedenken” means “remembrance”, “Geh denken” equally spoken means “go to think”) against the right wring extremists. Days before Dresdener putted a hughe banner near Postplatz completed the advertisement “Dresden welcomes its guests” with the slogan “… but we do without neonazis”. On Schlossplatz the slogan “Diese Stadt hat Nazs satt” (a maybe not voluntarily chosen word game to be translated “This city has plenty of nazis” or “This city is fed up with Nazis”) was formed by lightened candles.
The driving force organizing the nenazis` compulsary event is the “June Landsmannschaft Ostdeutschland”, founded 1991 as an official youth organization of the expellee organizaton “Landsmannschaft Ostpreussen”. The Orgaization, which got closer and closer to NPD over the years, is considered to be “partly right wring extremist” by some authorities of the Verfassungsschutz (German inner secret service agencies). The “Landsmannschaft Ostpreussen” got annoyed by the raving group. It divorced from the organization in 2000. In November 2006 JLO had to change its name to “Junge Landsmannschft Ostdeutschland”, forced by “Landsmannschaft Ostpreussen”.
This Year Neonazis founded a “Aktionsbündnis gegen Vergessen” (~action alliance against oblivion”), dominated by Neonazis of “Freie Kraefte” (”lit.: “Free Forces”, highly violent and autonom organized groups of Neonazis), to organize the “teariness march”. Those (”Freie Kraefte) insisted on marching in the week while JLO wanted to keep marching at weekend.

Beside the march Neonazis wanted to perform an “action week”, using the vague expression “creative” for their schedule of actions. Accoring to their own announcements AgV performed a closed meeting yesterday evening, visited by 60 people, among those visitors from Spain, Austria and England. The keynote speaker was Peter Naumann, an active Neonazi since 1970 who was convicted for an attack with explosives and the attempt to found a terrorist organization and violation of the regulations on arms and explosives to a sentence of four and a half year, in 1988.
The year before the NPD excluded him due to his terrorist activities. After being relaesed from prison he was accepted as member again and worked as consultant for the member of local parliament Klaus-Jürgen Menzel since the 2004 elections in Saxony. After Menzel being excluded from the NPD`s parliamentary group and leaving the party, Naumann became “Parliamentary Consultant” of the NPD`s parliamentary group. Yesterday the convicted bomb planter spoke about the allied bombings in World War 2 in a revisionist manner.

some days ago I used the metro. Its a fast way to go and the best are the lıttle screens wıth - mostly - advertising. One of them was remarkably:
there were ten figures, one of them black, nine of them red. then the information, nine of ten people have the virus responsible for genital herpes. in the next cut there was a “male” and a “female” figure, one red and one black, one of them was laying its had to the shoulder of the other. Both become red. then the slogan: “Be careful”
what is the message? And is herpes really transfered by laying my head to someones shoulder? And is there any special thing İ can do to, being careful. and if really 9 of 10 have this virus, isn`t it most likely, İ have it anyway, and if not, most likeley, when i get in any contact with any person?
Just now I am listening radio, this strange program which always broadcast health tips in the late morning. and the today`s issue: herpes. it seems to be the sickness of the season.

just yesterday İ had a discussion about privacy protection, especially, if attempts to improve legal privacy protection are use- and successful. İ stated, İ do not believe, they could be successful, just look at the last 2 or there decades of discussion about that issue. There have always been the same arguments of those civil rights defenders, valid arguments, even considered as in the public discussion, but not powerful enough to stop the trend to more data accessible for states authorities.
my counterpart argued, in germany - we were talking about the discussion in germany - there are quite explicit regulations about what data should be private. This is a result of the discussion about. But on the other hand, these regulations are widened nearly every month and the technical possibilities is growing and laws are adapted to technical “success” regulary.

later on I watched Rear Window. Beside the amazing charm of Grace Kelly and the funny relationship of those blokes, … and last not least the entertaining old style criminal story … beside this there is something said about the question of morality in observation: is it moral to observe someone, even if we can proof someones innocence? - İnteresting how it was questioned in 1954.

and the last point: today the federal court in germany stated, that so called “online searches”, i.e. the police using malware to get information of someones computer secretely, is illegal. So you could say this is a success, but I think, it isn`t, as there is just no regulation about this, and those who wanted to use the law about conventional house searches ın order to legitimate those trojans just ignored the fact, that it just is not comparable, just because they are secret. We can bet, how long it will take, until there is a new law and some will argue against it. so there will be a law, which says, that you will need a judge to apply this method and maybe a restriction on crimes of some gravity, so that maybe it will not be used for shoplifters, but İ`m sure, the next time, İ will be accused, this “crime” will fit the law.

So İ don`t come to any conclusion. İ don`t believe in legal protection, lets try to do our best to keep our data save, anyway, technically, but to be honest, /me as well is much to lazy and not consequent enough, and even if I would be, if those İ am communicating with are not caring, İ`m chanceless.
