I got a washıng machıne, already some time ago. it`s, workıng well, just loosing some water - about 1 l each go. thats not really much, but too much just to much to ıgnore and just to let it go on the floor. my first solution was, to seal the leak, which is, where the cap is flanged to the drum, with silicon. it didn`t really work.

so İ decided to find a bowl to put all the machine in. as I expected, ıt was hard to fınd some, big enough. ıt shpıld be a lıttle bıt more than 60 cm square or, if round, nearly 1 m diameter, as the diagonal of my machine is 60 cm * root(2). I already knew, where I can find all the plastic stuff sold by the neyloncu, as they are called in turkısh, not plastikçi, as I guessed. but the maximum, they sell is about 60 cm square, but from the outer borders which is just not enough, or 70 sm diameter. mh, so İ had to think about, who could use just a big bowl.

yesterday, when i was shopping some small christmass presents, İ found something: a kind of baking tray and, in the same shops, as usaual it was not one, but suddenly 10 next to each other, a tray which is used if eating on the ground, like the traditional osman, or whatever, style. they were perfekt, sold in sizes up to 1 m diameter, but those sold there, made of steal, whre a little bit expensive, about 25-30 YTL …

Anyway a got a tip where İ can get them in aluminium, somewhere in sülemanye. a good reason to explore this area full of small manufacturing sites a little bit more.

In some days I wıll go to prague to meet there with lena and go on to bavaria to spent christmas with my family. As flights are too expensive and hitchhiking is no fun at this time of the year, I checked for busses, also because I never tried thıs way of traveling. I checked the ınternet and the offers at istanbul esenler büyük otogarı, not fındıng anything. therefore İ followed the tip, that there is said to be other busses from aksaray. what I found was emniyet otogarı, whıch also didn`t have any offer for me, but is faszinating and therefore worth to describe:

just next to the shopping area in aksaray, a place were mainly russian fashion industry is selling, there is a site, maybe as big as a football field. from there busses and cargo lines are going to places like rumania, bulgaria, kosovo, ukrain, russia, central asia, gorgia, azerbaidjan, (not to arminia), middle east …
the cargo lines are trucks and people come and bring there parcels. it seems, that people come to istanbul to shop and use this place for transporting themselves and the goods they buy as low-scale resellers. A wonderfull place to see, what istanbul is a business center for. I really would like to catch a bus to alma ata from there or maybe tblisi. lets see what the next summer brings.
anyway, meanwhile i found a connection from istanbul to prague by katev tourism, but İ have no idea about the prize and where to book and so on. hm, let`s see ….

oh sınce about half`n year ı want to use a ip phone with my netBSD. the first attempt was skype. others - based on open standards dıdn`t work either. Anyway ı had to install a windows for work - thats an other ıssueö ı dıdn`t write anythıng about that yet, but ı got used to use wındows for phoning too. but sometımes ı was really annoyed.

anyway, I guessed the problem was an ıncompatibility between skype, which is running on a linux simulation, and the methods how NetBSD ıs dealıng the soundcards and ı trıed to ues soundwrappers lıke esound or arts - nothng worked. the solutiomd was much easier: the mic was just set mute …
here is the solution:

mixerctl -w inputs.mic.preamp=on inputs.mic.mute=off

İ still don`t understand, how it works, but it works. just if i want to do more than one call, i have to leave skype and restart, which is somrtimes a problem, because the skype processes arent killed properly somehow …
İ`m a little shocked, that it is so easy and still don`t understand how it works. the linus-simulation seems to simulate a /dev/dsp. if someone can explain it, comment …

I did some changes in css and design. I thınk its working quite good in firefox, at least in mine. so if you experience some problem or ugly presentation, please report …
